When the pH is less than 3.5-3.55, the hydrolysis tends to be stable, and when the pH is equal to 4, the hydrolysis is significant. When the pH is equal to 8-8.5, sodium fluorosilicate can be completely hydrolyzed to form silica gel and precipitate. Therefore, when sodium fluorosilicate is added to water glass, in addition to neutralizing the sodium hydroxide in the water glass solution to precipitate silica gel and harden it, sodium fluorosilicate itself is also a source of silica gel.
