Nickel sulphate, also known as nickel barium, is a blue or green crystal that is an important nickel salt and soluble in Ethanol and ammonia. There are three types of nickel sulfate crystals in the natural world: anhydrous, hexahydrate, and heptahydrate. The products sold on the market are mainly hexahydrate, including two types of α and β crystals, α-type blue and green tetragonal crystals, and β-type. Green transparent crystal, slightly soluble in alcohol, soluble in methanol. Mainly used in electroplating industry, it is the main nickel salt of electroplating nickel and electroless nickel, and also the source of metallic nickel ions. It can dissociate nickel ions and sulfate ions during electroplating. In the production of hardened oils, it is a catalyst for the hydrogenation of oils and fats. The pharmaceutical industry is used to produce a catalyst for the oxidation of vitamin C.
